Each year, the Jacksonville Bar Association hosts the Holiday in January project which is designed to ensure that each child placed in a foster home over the holidays receives a holiday gift. The project is coordinated with the Northeast Florida Paralegal Association. Law firms and vendors are asked to make donations during the Fall and volunteer attorneys and paralegals purchase and deliver the toys. In the past, children have also been given scooters and riding helmets and receive a visit from Santa Clause! This is a fun and personally rewarding event! Volunteers are needed to bring supplies (paper goods, water, juice), take part in crafts for the kids (i.e. face painting, cookie decorating, ornament decorating, your choice, etc.), and help with event set up and clean up. If you would like to volunteer or donate supplies for money for supplies, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
